Random Babble

It's been a busy couple of weeks.

Trying to keep the restaurant together. Two of my waitresses are off for extended time. One surgery, the other crushed her hand in an accident, which will require surgery.
One plague or another has visited most of my employees. Either the poop-n-pukes or the snot headed cough.

Thanksgiving was good. The turkey over cooked itself a little (bad bird). But everything else was great.
My daughter was a great help. Getting the house clean enough for company. And assisting me in the fooding.

Sadly, once the festivities were over, I was blessed with the snot headed coughs and lost the next three days to Nyquil naps. Almost feeling human again. A shower will help with that.

And. Daughter's doctor visit yesterday was promising. She has dilated 1cm and is showing signs of anytime now!  If you read my post Conflicted, you know this is exciting.

Now. I need to start the next holiday insanity. Christmas is coming!  I love decorating. I'm a Christmas tree freak. I have, um, several.

I'm babbling now. So.
Til next time, Have a spiftacular day!

  1. I also have more than one Christmas Tree!

The fake one in my front room, the one with all my fragiles and lovelies, is going up today so I can light it up for December 1st!

    Yay!

Glad to hear you're on the mend.

  2. Glad the head cold is dissipating in time for the daughter's dilation. Those two things would be tough to manage together - but you're tough so I know you could do it.

  3. I didn't know that a baby was on its way. That's great news. Sorry about your snot cold. I am just getting over one, though it seems to have relapsed which I am not all that pleased about.

  4. "Spiftacular" I love it!!!!

I called people and asked them if anyone was sick on the night before Thanksgiving. Is that rude?!

    I just hate getting sick.

  6. @CDG, yay another tree junkie! I'm hoping to get started on mine later this week. Then be prepared for Christmas treemania pics.

@KLZ, I'm at the waiting for the phone to ring point. And snot head or not, I'll find a way to be there. They'll probably want to throw a mask on me.

@Kristin, I know. When I think it's over I get a coughing fit. I'm afeared it's trying to mutate to chest cold next. But I keep fighting it.

@The Girl Next Door, I love making up my own words. And I was the one passing germs at our Thanksgiving. I'm a baaad hostess.

@AO, the head cold seems to be pretty common right now. Between family and friends we're probably just passing it back and forth.

Too all, as soon as the little bundle arrives, I'll be tweeting and blogging with the details. Thanks all for stopping by!

  9. Oh, lord.

We have not been sick so far this year, and in years past? As soon as I allow myself to feel even slightly happy about that fact? We are all taken down by some horribleness.

    Sigh.

I am glad that you are feeling better!

We have been trying to get into the Christmas spirit over here as well. The girls are all over the holiday, but I take a bit longer to get enthused. Working on that. Snort!

And is the baby here yet?

    How about now?

    How about now?

    How about now?

    I need photos!

    damn it
They are attending her husband's office Christmas party. She figures that will be about the worst time to start labor. So maybe it will happen.
You get photos after I do.
